Amazing Indian Himalaya - Part One

Thanks To - Popkorn ( Hflight )

Destination is Shimla(2260 m above sea level) capital of Himachal pradesh (360 kmnorth east of Delhi) VIA Kalka , first part of journey started with train and changes to a smaller train which its rail is only 69cm in width at Kalka.from Kalka to Shimla is only 96 km but takes 5 hrs since it goes up hillthe train will goes through 102 tunnel and 845 bridges (of course some small some big)

I decided to go to the east side of the province where share its border with Tibet some part just few kilo meter to Tibet, as this is a sensitive area so special permission is needed which is called Inner line permit

here is the check point, now i felt i am not far away from Tibet!!!

Gete ( pronounce Kee Tae )is the village that locates 4270m above sea level , i was there around 20th of May 2005 , even though it is Spring time but the temperature was 8c in the day time and went to minus at night...and in the pictures i was treking to Kibber 4205 m above sea level

Here is Kibber(4205m above sea level) once it was pround to be the highest human habitat!very cold , in winter temperature can drop to -35c , in the picture here is a group of student and teachers sit out side of teh school building wishing sun light could warm them up...at this altitude sun is reallly strong!! as the higher in altitude the less dense of oxygen so skin can be burnt by skin quite easy..and since the oxygen is less then heart and lung need to work harder resulted in your pulse goes really fast( i experienced 110 times per hour at night when i laid down on bed and that was hard to sleep, body need some time to adjust it)

I walked up hill abit from Kibber . the place where the picture was taken was 2 and half hours away from Kibber village ( not so far but up this high body feels tired so easily)the land scape s amazing , it is a cold desert and like Mars surface. only bush can grow .

To Be Continued In Part Two
